Our Organization
The Kitten Koop works within various communities to rescue kittens, enroll their feline parents in TNR programs, and educate the community about feline welfare. We are a foster-based rescue operating out of one foster home.
Our organization was formed when we combined our efforts to rescue, vaccinate, sterilize, and adopt out three kittens. Our mission is to be a resource for kittens, other rescuers, and prospective adopters.
We’re so glad you’re here to explore animal welfare and the world of kitten rescue!

Kayla
Founder and Director of The Kitten Koop
Colorado-based kitten foster volunteer
My passion for animal welfare began 24 years ago when I met my first rescue dog, Nala. She and her siblings were found in an abandoned house, and her story opened my eyes to the need for shelters and adopters. From finding cats and kittens everywhere to reuniting stray dogs with their owners, I became a person obsessed with trying to help. It wasn’t long before I branched out into learning about animal cruelty, the animal rescue cycle, and the impact of veganism. Today, I live a plant-based lifestyle while rescuing and fostering kittens in need. I especially love to foster little ones who need a little medical TLC, and I really enjoy the challenge of socializing feral felines.
I work behind the scenes to ensure that each Kitten Koop foster is fully vetted, spayed/neutered, and adopted into the perfect forever home.
